Reiki is spiritually guided life force energy, and a Japanese healing technique that is used for stress reduction and relaxation. As a Reiki practitioner, I use touch to channel energy to remove negative blocks, and to bring balance to your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energy levels. Reiki is also used in many hospitals as a compliment to medical treatments and therapies. I use Reiki as a compliment to my coaching practice.
Why I choose to compliment my coaching services with Reiki healing?
First, you have to experience Reiki in order to really appreciate its nurturing and energizing benefits. I had heard a lot about the healing properties of Reiki, yet, it had not come to me how I could use Reiki to compliment my integrative coaching services.
I had a major life event happen that led me to do some intense soul searching. During this process, “Reiki” came up. I had never actually had a Reiki session, so I began to look for studios where I could have a session. What happen next surprised even me; everything seemingly lined up perfectly for me to take a class to become certified as a Reiki Practitioner.
I had some extra cash in the bank, time to spare and thought “why not give this a go and see what it’s about.” What a delight for me to discover that rather than feeling uncomfortable, or it being weird or kooky, the whole experience had the profound sense of coming home to truth.
Needless to say, I fell in love! I completed the First Degree Course in the Usui/Tibetan System of Reiki, I am currently certified as a Second Degree Usui/Tibetan Reiki Practitioner, and will soon become certified as a Reiki Master!
Reiki energies flow between the practitioner and the recipient during the Reiki session. The practitioner and/or the recipient may feel heat, warmth, cold, subtleness, steadfastness, or forcefulness. The fact that you can feel Reiki flowing is a verification that the energy is being welcomed.
Reiki is a safe hands-on-method of natural healing that activates, balances, and increases life force within us by using our own natural ability to take in positive energies that restore the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Reiki sessions take place in a private, peaceful, and safe environment providing a holistic approach for overall well-being. Sessions are conducted while sitting in a chair or lying on a massage/Reiki table. The client is fully clothed, as the practitioner places their hands on or slightly above their body.
Receiving Reiki is a wonderfully passive experience. Relax and allow the flow of Reiki to relax you. Meanwhile, daydream, enjoy the music, observe your breath or the sensation your may experience during the session.
